WE ALL HAVE A STORY...

Here's Mine

IT'S SO NICE TO MEET YOU!
I’m Marisa, a Metro-Detroit photographer, storyteller, and your go-to hype-woman behind the lens. I’m passionate about capturing the real, raw, joy-filled moments that make your story uniquely yours. I've loved being in front of the camera for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until I took the leap and stepped behind the camera that I ignited a new-found passion for creating visual art that feels personal, emotional, and unforgettable.
But before I ever picked up a professional camera, a personal experience deepened my understanding of the importance of what I do now. I lost my mom to breast cancer when I was 16, and as the years passed, I realized just how few photos I had with her. That realization changed everything. It taught me how fragile and fleeting life is; how the people we love most can become memories far sooner than we ever expect and it taught me of the power photographs hold: the ability to keep a moment, a feeling, a connection alive long after time has moved on.
That is the heart behind every session I capture.
One of my favorite things about this job is the interatctions I have with the people I work with. The joy on your face when I show you a preview. The hugs after we wrap. The sheet excitement when the gallery gets delivered. These moments fuel my passion and remind me why this work matters.
My goal is to be more than just a vendor- I aim to be a friend, someone who makes you feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated. Your story deserves to be preserved with intention and genuine connection, and it’s an honor to be trusted with the memories that mean the most.
OUTSIDE THE LENS
I have been with my wonderful husband, Mark, for five incredible years and we have a beautiful son together. We also have two fur babies with the same black & brown brindled coloring- Kota, our dog, and Zola, our cat.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University (that I no longer use lol). I quickly climbed the ranks in the corporate realm for 7 years. During those 7 years, I have worked extremely hard, pushed my limits and shattered glass ceilings; I grew, learned, mentored, and gained valuable skills on how to be a leader and effectively communicate. The longevity in my career has also given me the opportunity to work with all different types of people from all different types of backgrounds, which translates directly to working with clients in the photography space!
I pour my heart and soul into the things I'm passionate about, old and new. I put as much energy and determination as I possibly can into every endeavor, and that effort is apparent in the quality of work I produce.
